Our Story

A taverna named for the man who couldn't sit still.

Opened in 1972 by two Madeiran brothers who missed the sea, Vasco Da Gama Taverna has served generations of sailors, poets, celebrants and rebels. The recipes came in a suitcase. The spirit was already in the walls.
